I am a junior computer science major at Texas A&M University. I am aspiring to be a software engineer with specific interests in backend development, computer vision, and data analysis. I have strong foundations in object oriented programming in Python, as displayed in my internships and undergraduate research. I am a highly collaborative team member, and in these projects I communicated with teams to deliver on project goals and create meaningful solutions. I am eager to continue applying my technical skills and collaborative mindset to future projects and endeavors.
I am highly interested in utilizing computer vision to solve real world problems and my experiences reflect this. I have designed computer vision models that can detect, segment, and track objects in many different scenarios. Some of these experiences include my internship, where I fine-tuned a ResNet18 model to predict parking spot occupancy at 98% accuracy and my research group where I developed an instance segmentation script to create a dataset of thousands of cow masks. In both of these projects I fine-tuned pretrained models to specifically fit my applications. In these experiences I have learned all the different applications where computer vision solutions can be applied and I am excited to begin implementing computer vision solutions.
I have also begun exploring the world of backend development to expand my software development experience. With my previous Python experiences I quickly picked up the Django framework and have begun building personal projects with it. My experience with PostgreSQL has been particularly valuable, allowing me to build robust, data-driven applications. I am interested in furthering my backend experiences by learning more advanced topics like API optimizations, security features, and event-driven architecture. I am excited to have an extensive background software development to allow me to work on projects from a range of different fields effectively.
